This setup utilizes a reverse-mounted starter and a lightweight bell housing. This configuration allows for its reduced weight, as the starter engages with a ring gear rather than a larger flywheel.
Installation typically requires modifications to the right side of the transmission tunnel to accommodate the starter. However, this relocation improves the starter's positioning by moving it away from the exhaust and other critical components. This practical adjustment is one of the reasons we endorse this setup.
While we recommend purchasing the complete kit for the best results, it's worth noting that any reverse mount bell housing designed for a Small Block Chevy (SBC) or LS engine will work seamlessly with this clutch setup.
