I installed this kit on my 1998 Z3.
I am working on a YouTube video for an in depth review / install / testing on this kit. I want to write out some stuff here.
Quality of the parts is very nice. Everything fit up as expected. Came with some stickers and a key chain. Hell yeah
I did make two modifications to make the kit fit. Nothing hard but good to be aware of.
1. I did have to trim the bolt that goes into the original lca holes to avoid it hitting the after market coilovers. Will include pics of the trimmed bolt.
2. I had to trim my aftermarket tie rods to align properly.
So both of these were from aftermarket parts on my end. Total time to fix those was under an hour anyway. Pretty simple.
I did some very rudimentary measuring on the angle. Using my compass app I went from 44 degrees stock lock to 65 degrees after the install. Take this with a grain of salt but that’s around 25% increase in angle.
I had to do a bit of work to get clearance up front which I’m sure is to be expected. Removed my fender liners and ended up around et 5 on my 17x7.5 wheels with a 215/45/17. Had some slight rubbing so I maxed the bump stops out. I bet a 205/45/17 would clear as it’s really close.
In terms of normal driving I did not notice a change, which in my opinion is good.
I drove at a two day event this last weekend and wanted to share my thoughts. This is my 3rd event and my 3rd and 4th day driving. This is my first “drift car” so I can’t compare this to other angle kits or anything like that. So i guess this is more of a review on getting angle.
Right off rip I could tell that it was going to be good. I was able to hold more angle as well as save and recover from mistakes so much better than before. I went from spinning out every couple laps to spinning out 2-3 times over the whole two day event. With the car where it’s at and power wise I can’t imagine running or need more angle than the kit provides. I still have more angle available from the kit since I’m way maxed on bump stops.
Overall I am very satisfied with the kit and had customer support help with the bolt interference in a very timely manner.
My new problem is the kit helped me out too much and now I need more rear tires.
Absolutely amazing angle kit. WAY more angle than I was expecting from the mini kit. And it comes at a great price too. Keep it up Josiah! I was waiting for this kit for a while and bought it the second I saw it release!
