DMCC Round 3 – 1st at Autodrome Montmagny and Championship Points Lead

Round 3 of DMCC took us to Autodrome Montmagny. Known for its fast entries, massive banks, and technical inner zones, this track demands precision and commitment from start to finish. The finale section runs right in front of the packed grandstands, making it one of the most exciting stops on the calendar.

Pre-Event Prep – Corvette Upgrades

Before heading to Montmagny, we made a few improvements to the Corvette:

  • Rear main seal block plate to prevent major failures

  • New clutch discs

  • Fresh headlight lenses and front bumper refresh

  • Lightweight aluminum front splitter & air dam for better bumper support

  • New front tire setup — true 265-width R1RS, giving us more grip and stability up front

We also continued refining our pit cart setup, making notes on tweaks for future events. Constant improvement is part of our process — the driving is only a small part of what we do.

Friday Practice – Early Problems

Friday night practice didn’t go smoothly. The Corvette suddenly lost all power and wouldn’t turn back on. After diagnosing the issue, we couldn’t find a permanent fix in time, so we pushed forward knowing we’d have to nurse the car through the weekend.

Saturday Qualifying – Back in the Game

Despite the setbacks, we went into qualifying with confidence and secured 2nd place. That result put us in a strong position heading into the night battles.

Battles Under the Lights

One of the unique things about DMCC is that finals happen at night, under the lights, in front of a roaring crowd — and Montmagny’s crowd was huge. The sold-out grandstands created an incredible atmosphere.

Our strategy was simple: stick to the plan, stay consistent, and execute clean lead runs with tight chase proximity. In the Top 16 and Top 8, we kept the runs tidy and avoided mistakes, adapting our line in the smoke-filled sections with help from our spotter Chris.

The Final Battle – A Dream Matchup

The finals brought a matchup I’d been waiting for: Kevin Morin. I’ve battled alongside Kevin for years, but never faced him in a final. The runs were exactly what we hoped for — aggressive and full-send from both of us. Seeing thousands of phone flashlights waving from the stands mid-battle was surreal.

In the end, we took the win, locking in 1st place for Round 3.

Championship Standings – Now in the Lead

This victory wasn’t just a trophy — it also pushed us into 1st place overall in the DMCC standings. With the season still underway, the pressure is on to maintain that lead.

Final Thoughts

Montmagny delivered on every level — technical track, amazing fans, and an unforgettable final battle. Huge thanks to the team, our sponsors, and everyone in the stands. This one’s for you.
